2019 Winter Convention

On January 31, 2019, dedicated Missouri LICA members gathered at Madison’s Cafe in Jefferson City to discuss legislative issues of concern and then visit their state Representatives and Senators. After the Legislative Luncheon, members gathered at the Courtyard by Marriott in Columbia to begin the Missouri LICA 80th Annual Winter Convention with a welcome reception. Friday was full of education, benefit highlights, visits with our Associate members and then we topped off the day with a rousing cornhole competition that evening. On Saturday, the contractors got down to business and adopted a full set of revised by-laws, reviewed plans for the 2019 Conservation Showcase, held some in-depth discussions about plans for the 2020 Winter Convention, and recognized Prins Insurance as our 2018 Associate of the Year.  The Auxiliary were also busy during the Convention.  In addition to holding their annual business meeting, they put their talents to use making hand scrubs, painting beautiful pictures, and creating wonderful cookie mix jars for Valentines Day. On Saturday night, we held an awards presentation where we recognized contractors for their years of membership and presented our first District Achievement Award to District #4 in recognition of their service to their members. Then, we wrapped up the Convention with a test of our members’ skills … or maybe luck … at a Casino Night. To see the Convention agenda, click here.

We are very grateful to all the Associate members who supported the 2019 Winter Convention by sponsoring meals and breaks, providing door prizes, and exhibiting; to our contractor members who took the time out of their work schedules to support the Association; and to Susan Liles, Auxiliary President, and the Auxiliary members who provided the Convention decorations and added the fun! Thank You All!
