Scholarship Policy

The Missouri Land Improvement Contractors Association (MLICA) awards one annual scholarship in the amount of $1,000.00 each year to a full-time student attending the State Technical College of Missouri (formerly Linn State Technical College) who is pursuing a certificate or associates degree in the construction related trades of Construction & Civil Technology or Heavy Equipment Operations. The deadline for the application is March 15. The Missouri LICA Memorial Scholarship is a $1,000.00 scholarship to be awarded one time to: An active Missouri LICA contractor member, who has been a Missouri LICA contractor member for at least five consecutive years; their spouse, child, step-child, grandchild, or step-grandchild. The deadlines for the application are March 1 and September 1.

  • Student obtains a scholarship application from the Missouri LICA website or State Technical College of Missouri (formerly Linn State Technical College).
  • Student completes the application as per instructions.
  • Student submits the application to the State Technical College of Missouri, postmarked no later than March 15. Applications postmarked after March 15 will not be considered. The scholarship payment will sent to the State Technical College of Missouri and credited to the student’s account.

  • Student obtains a scholarship application from the Missouri LICA office or website.
  • Student completes the application per instructions.
  • Student sends the application into the Executive Director at 1101 West High Street; Jefferson City, MO 65109, postmarked no later than March 1 or September 1. Incomplete applications will be discarded. Applications postmarked after the March 1 or September 1 deadline will be considered for the next application cycle.
  • The Missouri LICA Board of Directors will vote on the selected applicant’s award at its spring and fall meetings and, if approved, the scholarship award will be issued within 60 days.
  • Scholarship will be given only to students who have been accepted by an accredited college or university for admission in the same year the award is granted.
  • Recognizing the need for financial assistance with ancillary expenses related to a college education, Missouri LICA will make the scholarship award payable to the student, once the student has provided proof of enrollment (i.e., a schedule of classes or letter of enrollment from the school’s registrar).
