On July 28, 2007, members of
Missouri LICA met at the Linn Lion's Club Pavilion to begin their Summer
Meeting adventure. We viewed three Streambank Stabilization projects
on the Marie's River. Thanks to the great guidance offered by Rob Pulliam
with the Missouri Department of Conservation, our members were able to see
one project which was 24 hours old, one which was eight months old, and
one which was about seven years old. It was fascinating to see the changes
which have taken place over the months and/or years - both before and
after the projects were installed.
Members were also given a tour of
the heavy equipment operation program offered by Linn State Technical
College. We wrapped up the day with a quick business meeting and a great
barbecue! Our members sure know how to spread a feast!
We'd like to thank Ken Balkenbusch
for all his hard work in making all the arrangements, Rob Pulliam and the
Missouri Department of Conservation for their time and talent, as well as
Prins Insurance and Continental Western who sponsored the meeting.
Below are some pictures of the day.
